| A bespoke software development consultancy has welcomed a new lead test engineer to its Newcastle headquarters.

Originally from Dumfriesshire in Scotland, WULLIE TRIMBLE, 40, has taken up the role, which marks an expansion to Scott Logic's team of software testers, after taking redundancy from his previous post at Hewlett Packard in North Tyneside.

Wullie, who now lives near Chester-le-Street in County Durham, has broad experience in both software testing and consultancy, after graduating from Strathclyde University with a degree in Chemistry.

| The trustee board of Derwenthaugh Boat Station has announced that LUCY WINSKELL OBE DL has been elected to the position of president. Lucy, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Business and Engagement) at Northumbria University, has been a supporter of the marine-based charity for many years.

The boat station, based at Derwenthaugh on the River Tyne near to Newcastle, trains young people from a range of backgrounds in boating activities, with the aim of providing enduring life skills and to achieve full use of their talents.
