THEY'RE known for making the "the best boots in the world" for those intent on achieving a life well lived and now residents will be able to scoop them up at Grand Central.

The hand-crafted leather boots, shoes, clothing and accessories chain will open at the centre's new retail galleria tomorrow from 9am.

R.M. Williams was founded in 1932 by Reginald Murray Williams.

He was born in the Australian outback and was determined to create a boot that could endure the harsh Australian bush.

Months were spent adapting a single piece of softened hide into one of the world's most recognised footwear styles.

Since then R.M. Williams has grown to become one of the best-known footwear brands in the world.

While originally built for men and women of the rugged, unforgiving Australian outback, their iconic one-piece-leather boots have gone on to grace the feet of millions of people, including CEOs.
