School Closings Cancel More Games in Wake of Storm; among Those Set for Monday, Mandarin, Wolfson Will Play Oct. 31

With most public schools in the area closing Monday, Hurricane Matthew's finishing touches on the high school football schedule is complete.

Four games set for Monday involving public school programs were canceled or rescheduled. Raines-First Coast, Nease-West Nassau and Parker-Paxon were canceled, while Mandarin and Wolfson will make their game up on Oct. 31.

St. Johns Country Day and St. Joseph also scratched their game. A total of 15 games on the First Coast and two in Southern Georgia were canceled and not set to be made up. Only two games remained scheduled for Monday, Bishop Snyder at Christ's Church, and Eagle's View at University Christian.

Only five games in Week 7 went off without trouble, although all of those were moved up to Wednesday and Thursday.
