DAISY LOWE has told how taking part in Strictly Come Dancing has helped her deal with the death of her grandfather.

Eddie Davis, nicknamed Fast Eddie by his family, died from a heart attack aged 82 on the first day of her rehearsals. Lowe said the distraction of Strictly has helped her "100 per cent" in dealing with the passing of the man who helped raise her.

She added: "I'm so grateful to Strictly. I feel really lost without him because he's been the strongest male influence in my life.

"Strictly has been such a gift, not just for me but for my mum and grandma as well. Grandma has never missed an episode in the whole 14 years. She's come with me to every fitting and every show." Lowe, 27, revealed her stint on the show has given her the confidence to consider other roles outside of modelling: "Totally. I've always loved acting but never thought I could do theatre because I got the worst stage fright ever. …
