AHEAD of bringing a powerhouse show to Gladstone this weekend, we chat to Darkc3ll lead singer Jesse Bateman.

Tell me about your new album:

"Haunted Reality" is the album that has helped us find our definitive sound that we aim to carry into the future of our music. Every artist strives to create that piece of art that transcends the imagination and becomes the piece that people will remember them for most. I think we've come close to that achievement. Couldn't be more prouder of this album.

What do you incorporate into your live shows that make them different or exciting?

Turn the volume to red! Haha, nah we strive to make everything sound epic on stage. What we wear on stage is an extension of who we are as people and not a gimmick , as many bands do.

With us, you get the cool packaging, open up and it's a treasure inside.

What's the most enjoyable part about being a musician?

The process of writing a song to producing and recording, and sharing, to that moment a person in the audience sings back your lyrics is a priceless feeling that I am eternally grateful I get to share. …
