WITH more than 30 tables booked by a diverse range of businesses and their teams, the Best in Business awards brought recognition before business peers and greater awareness of their hard work and efforts.

And it gave deserved attention to many Gladstone businesses that can fly under the radar but whose strident efforts have brought them success.

While Gladstone has been through some tough times, the awards put the spotlight on individuals out there making a difference.

Inspiring people like dietician Megan Leanewho arrived in Gladstone aged 22 and now four years on has a thriving business, were recognised as she took out the Young Business Leader award.

And her work in nutrition and improving diets is helping Gladstone residents live healthier lives.

From a country town in NSW Ms Leane graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics.
