BY SIMPLY collecting a bag full of food this festive season, you will be able to make a struggling family's Christmas loads better.

The 2016 Loads of Love appeal was officially launched yesterday with hopes it will gather 10,000kg of food for hundreds of families.

METRO Care operations manager Matt Gregg said since 2009 they had collected more than 17,000kg of food and this year were launching it throughout southern Queensland with the help of Heritage Bank and Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Queensland.

"Christmas is a lot of different things to a lot of different people but universally it seems that its supposed to be a time of celebration, family, fun, friendship, laughter and enjoying each others company," Mr Gregg said. …
