Brent Catching a Piece of Rangers' Family Fun

BASEBALL: They are big shoes he plans on filling but there is little doubt Brent Locke will be ready when his big moment at Toowoomba Rangers Baseball Club finally arrives.

Sixteen-year-old Locke is a member of one of Toowoomba's most passionate sporting families and was literally born into the sport of baseball.

His father Mick has been a Rangers' stalwart for almost 25 years and holds the club record for games played.

Brent's uncle Darryl Luchterhand is also part of Rangers' legend at the club his father Ian founded back in the early 1990s.

But Brent's family connection with Rangers doesn't end there.

His cousin Sean Rogers has been a long-time member of the club's successful A grade team while his mum Sindy is club treasurer, his uncle and former player Wayne Locke now umpires and his aunties Jenny Rogers and Judy Locke are match scorers.

Mick once declared he'd keep playing baseball "until I can't walk any more". …
