THE top two in Division One clashed as North Shields Community Christians beat leaders Sunderland Samba 7-2. Conor Higgins put North Shields in front but George Churchill equalised before Simon Parker restored Shields' lead.

Two goals from Andrew Sword took North Shields into the break 4-1 ahead.

Sunderland grabbed the first goal in the second half through Jonathan Martin.

Two counters in a minute from Luke Parker wrapped up the win for North Shields.

They then missed a penalty before Ryan Gardiner rounded off the scoring with the last kick of the match.

Samba stay top despite losing their 100% record.

YAV SIFF consolidated third position with a 6-3 victory over Morpeth Mighty Oaks.

They were 3-0 up inside eight minutes thanks to Hawraz Salah (2) and John Anjokwu.

Jason Riches notched on the half-hour for Mighty Oaks but Mensah Koffi made the score 4-1 at half-time.
