HI, JUST over a week left to go to Christmas - ooh, it's getting so exciting! I love seeing all the Christmas decorations and lights on my travels. I hope you aren't letting it all stress you out. Keep calm and enjoy all the festivities.

Christmas, as everyone says, is a time of giving. However, it shouldn't be all about how much you spend but making people happy.

It's lovely to make time for people and generally be more thoughtful and charitable.

I love Metro Radio's Mission Christmas and always buy a gift for a child that wouldn't otherwise get any presents.

Thank you so much to everyone who took part in our Christmas Jumper day on Friday and raised money for the charity.

Mincoff Solicitors sent some lovely pictures. Thanks guys, you all looked very festive.

I feel quite liberated this year not sending any Christmas cards and instead I donated the money I would have spent to the Sunshine Fund Christmas minibus appeal.

So, Happy Christmas to anyone I haven't had the opportunity to tell, I will be posting season's greetings on my social media too.

I first mentioned our Christmas appeal in September.

We needed PS30,000 to buy a specially adapted minibus for a lovely group of deaf children from Northern Counties school in Newcastle, who have a signing choir and were struggling to get out to sing/sign due to the lack of appropriate safe transport for wheelchairs.

I am visiting the children's Christmas Carol concert tomorrow. I can't wait to see them again, they are so determined and enthusiastic, it never ceases to bring a smile to my face and a lump to my throat, so inspirational.

I would love to be able to keep them performing and positive.

I know I'm always asking for money and support but I also know how generous Chronicle Readers and people in the North East can be - especially at Christmas.

Thank you to everyone who has donated already.

We have raised a fabulous PS10,000 so far but we still have PS20,000 to go so the children can get their minibus for Christmas. …
