IT'S cold, wet, and miserable, so no wonder this is the peak summer holiday booking period. However, with the pound low against the dollar and the euro, this year it's likely to be a challenge to get decent prices on hotels, car hire and more, so here are my 10 top tips for keeping costs down..

1. Pocket the perfect plastic: Spend abroad and most credit cards add a 3% 'non sterling transaction fee' and some add on other charges.
