BORO completed a PS3.5m deadline day deal to sign Watford midfielder Adlene Guedioura yesterday.

The 31-year-old French-born Algerian international penned a two-and-a-half year contract and will provide competition in the heart of Aitor Karanka's engine room.

Several members of the club's development set-up also completed moves yesterday.

Callum Cooke joined Crewe on loan and signed a new Boro deal, Harry Chapman re-joined Sheffield United on loan, though he is currently undergoing treatment on an ankle injury, while Arnel Jakupovic has joined Serie A side Empoli.

Carlos de Pena, as expected, completed his loan move to Spanish side Oviedo.

The Rhodes and Guedioura deals were completed after Boro's 1-1 home draw with West Brom. …
