QMY DOG lost a claw and deposited quite a lot of blood on my red brick drive.

I have tried to remove the stains without success.

Any ideas? John Lee, by email AI'VE never had to remove blood before, but I suppose you could try bleach, a paint stripper, de-greaser or a steam cleaner. If none of those work just turn the red bricks over so that the stain faces into the ground.

QI LIVE in a housing association flat where, for the last few years, the floorboards have creaked terribly in the bedroom, hallway, kitchen and living room. I complained last year and they rolled back the carpets and nailed the boards down.

For six months they were fine but now the creaking has returned. Can you advise? Anne, by email AIT SOUNDS as if the boards have been poorly relaid after rewiring or the installation of services.

Either way, you need to lift the boards, clean them underneath then fix them back in place using wood screws to replace the original secret nails. …
