TUCK in to some local grub this weekend - it's all the rage.

Teesside is getting on board the home-grown band wagon with the first Middlesbrough Local Food Weekend of 2017 running from today to Sunday.

Sixteen of the town's restaurants, cafes and bars have signed up to take part in the campaign, part of the Growing Middlesbrough initiative dedicated to improving access to food and drink grown or produced within 50 miles of the town - helping to create jobs and support the local economy.

Those taking part offer at least one dish made using a minimum of two locally-produced ingredients.

The group, led by brother and sister Joe and Helen Hammill, have released Make Your Vision - the second track to be taken from their second album Mirrors, due for release in April.

The Thornaby quintet will take top billing at The Georgian Theatre stage at Stockton Calling on April 15 before setting out on a new 11-date national tour that will see them take in venues up and down the country in May.

Last year saw the band perform on the festival circuit including appearances at Reeperbahn Festival, Live At Leeds and Evolution Emerging, as well as at some of the UK's finest boutique festivals including Cornbury, Deer Shed and Bingley Music Live.

Jurys Inn Middlesbrough - the largest hotel in the Tees Valley - pledged its support for the Growing Middlesbrough Local Food Network, after teaming up with local food producer Rosalind Waugh.

The fruit-packed preserves produced by Rosalind - owner of Rosalind's Larder - impressed head chef Martin Moore so much he added them to the breakfast buffet at the 132-bedroom hotel. …
