ALDIN GRANGE LAKES 07901 538587 / DH7 7AR Fish have been taken on small black and olive Buzzers. Patterns as small as 16's with thin bodies have been effective fished around four to five feet down with a slow retrieve. Takes have been positive. Small Diawl Bachs have also been good fish takers. Other patterns taking fish were: Bloodworm, White or Pink Tinny, Egg Fly and small black dries.

BELLFLASK 01677 470716 / HG4 5LW Angler of the week was Guy Nicholson from Newcastle catching no fewer than 31 trout to 4lb on lures. Local regular Phil Coates, caught 25 to 4lb while another regular Fred Bainbridge had 22 to 6lb. Small lures fished on floating lines did well with patterns such as Viva, Cats Whisker, Damsel Nymph, Black and Green Montana and Buzzers proving to be the pick of the bunch.

CHATTON TROUT LAKES 01668 215226 / NE66 5RF Many trout in the 5lb to 9lb range were caught this week with lures, Diawl Bach, PTN, Buzzers and Bloodworm the main fish takers. Kevin Burton from Wallsend landed two doubles in his catch of nine trout. Tom Brown from Ellington returned a 12lb rainbow while Eric Wrightson had one of 6lb 10oz on a Black Montana. P Hutchinson fishing with the Northumbrian Water Fishing Club had five fine trout for 19lb 8oz. Sonia Dobson from Prudhoe landed an excellent specimen rainbow from the Chatton Lake.

JUBILEE LAKES 01388 772611 / DL2 2UH The lakes are fishing well with anglers taking trout on dry fly. Buzzers and Cats Whisker have been effective patterns. Trout are becoming more active with CdC Shuttlecock patterns recommended. Anglers can expect more activity on or near the surface with imitative patterns likely to produce plenty of takes.

KNITSLEY MILL 079607747417 / DH8 9EL Heavy rainfall coloured up the lakes but sport remained good with plenty trout being caught. Top flies were: Wicked White Buzzer, Black Buzzer, Zonkers, Cats Whisker and Bloodworm. Two 17lb 8oz rainbows were caught and returned this week. A big stocking of fish was due to be going in today.
