SOUTH Shields head to Coleshill Town in the Buildbase FA Vase semi-final first leg, at Pack Meadow in Warwickshire.

Shields will have magnificent support with them, as their allocation of 300 tickets quickly sold out for the trip to the Midland League Premier Division outfit, who are currently second in the table.

Shields joint manager Lee Picton is expecting a difficult tie.

He said: "Coleshill are a really strong side who are especially impressive going forward. We'll do lots of research as always ahead of the games."

Picton believes their 3G pitch could prove a help rather than a hindrance to Shields.

He added: "I reached this stage of the competition a few times as a player, and you know that at this time of the season, you can end up playing on difficult pitches, but at least with this tie we know what we'll be getting with a 3G surface."

Carl Finnigan and Gavin Cogdon will face late fitness tests.

In Ebac Northern League Division One, Chester-le-Street journey to Jarrow Roofing BCA and have Joe Grant, David Latham and Dan McGuire returning to the squad and have no injuries to report.

Roofing have Captain Shaun Vipond and striker Dennis Knight both returning after the pair missed Tuesday's match against Washington.

Tom Bailey is a doubt after picking up a knock in midweek, while midfielder Paul Gardiner is still a long-term absentee.

Shildon are at leaders North Shields and club official John Atkinson said: "Lewis Dodd will still be out and Anthony Bell is still recovering from injury - he came back last week but may have had a reaction to it."

North Shields have a fully fit squad heading into the game and Kevin Hughes could return to the starting eleven after he missed the 2-1 win over Consett on Wednesday. Dan Wilson, who came off the bench to score Shields' winner against Consett, is pushing for a start.

Seaham Red Star welcome Newcastle Benfield and Nat Skidmore has returned to the club on work experience from Hartlepool United. Luke Proctor and Lewis Murphy return to the squad, but Craig Price is serving a suspension.

Benfield manager Mark Convery said: "Missing will be Moussa Bakhti due to an ankle injury and Matt McNamee who has taken up a job in New York. …
