What is the best thing about your job? The people I work alongside at Calibre are the best thing about my job. Their drive to constantly evolve, improve and help us stay agile and competitive as a company is humbling at times. Calibre is our people. They go the extra mile without ever being asked, and they're utterly dedicated to keeping our customers happy. As a company owner, you really cannot ask for more than that.

What is your proudest achievement? There are several achievements that make me proud, but the latest is our partner award from Cisco. It's incredible to be recognised for our commitment and expertise by such a technology worldleader.

What advice would you give to someone starting in your career? Believe in yourself; stay true to your strengths and concentrate on paddling your own canoe.

Which individual has inspired you most and why? I couldn't possibly name one. I have a group of amazing, supportive girlfriends that I met through cycling; these girls have an inspiring can-do attitude that staggers me at times. They're all working mums who face the same day-to-day challenges as most mums. Their tenacity and determination to overcome obstacles together with their contagious attitude to achieve their goals utterly is inspirational.

What's the best piece of advice you've been given? A business mentor told me about cash flow: "If you don't see it coming, you can't do anything about it." That really resonated and stuck with me.

What was the biggest challenge you've faced in your career so far? We're a small company in a fiercely competitive market. We have to constantly keep our eye on emerging trends, innovations and new markets, invest in industry certifications, find the right people with the right skills, and stay abreast of what our competitors are doing as well as the day-to-day challenges of running the business. …
