A RAGING teenager ran amok with a knife in a hostel after spotting unwashed pots in the kitchen.

Luke Simpson, 19, was so incensed at seeing the dirty dishes he ran upstairs and kicked an absent neighbour's door off its hinges, causing more than PS200 damage.

He threatened to kill two other residents at a hostel for homeless and vulnerable men on Yarm Lane, Stockton. He said: "I'm going to stab him. I can do 25 years and still have a life. They won't have a life."

Other residents saw the commotion at about 10.40pm on January 29, Teesside Crown Court heard.

Prosecutor Harry Hadfield said Simpson went downstairs to the kitchen, where he was seen with a knife. When a resident asked why he wrecked the door, Simpson grabbed and pushed him against a wall.

The two men wrestled as Simpson pushed the resident to a stairwell, threatened to kill him and held the serratededged knife towards him. …
