Last Chance to Enter Prestigious Awards; Awards

THE hunt for the best employers in the business is hotting up with just days remaining for firms to get their entries into the 2017 CIPD North East of England HR&D Awards.

Now in their 11th year, these awards shine a light on the outstanding achievements in the sector and the positive impact that its staff have on the region's business community.

These awards are delivered in association with The Journal and associate sponsors Nigel Wright Recruitment, and pave the way for companies to share best practice while also inspiring future practitioners and businesses.

Open to all types of organisations, regardless of size or sector, the event comes to a glittering climax when the winners are announced on June 22 at an awards dinner at the Newcastle Marriott Hotel at Gosforth Park.

Last year's grand final attracted nearly 400 guests, with winners including Sage UK, Hitachi Rail, LSL Properties and Muckle LLP.

CIPD co-chairs Elouise Leonard Cross and Sarah Carnegie said: "Since the awards were established we have enjoyed the company of over 3,500 people at the evening dinners and celebrated the achievement of 82 winners, and we are looking forward to being able to celebrate the achievement of the 2017 winners."

The judging panel - representing some of the top North East HR&D decision makers - will soon gather to go through the entries and there is still time to get in your entry.

This year's panel includes Claire Atkins from Muckle LLP, Jac Gardner from Arriva, Lynne Griffin of NCG, John McConnell of LSL Property Services plc, Sue O'Donovan of Nigel Wright Group and Lizzy Tyler of Taylor Wimpey.
