Explosive Finisher Up with Racing's Best Horses

Article excerpt

HORSES that can finish fast and run over the top of their opposition are few and far between. However, no one can doubt the mighty finish by Chautauqua to win his third straight TJ Smith.

He exploded at the 200 metre mark and most racegoers who saw this finish were left gobsmacked.

Other fantastic horses with fast-finishing bursts include Kiwi in the 1983 Melbourne Cup, Woorim (2011 Oakleigh Plate) and Winx (2015 Sunshine Coast Guineas). This win was his first in his undefeated streak.

Another believe it or not finish was put in by Gust of Wind in a maiden race at Scone, an unbelievable win from nowhere. This horse also has the honour of being the last horse to defeat the super mare Winx.

All caddies must wear the white jumpsuit and running on the course is strictly forbidden.

No phones, pagers or electronic devices are allowed on course. They are blocked at the gate by airport style security.

You can not ask for auto- graphs and players must wear their caps forward.

The membership list is always kept around 300. If you happened to get a chance to play Augusta by an invite from a member then he must stay with you at all times. …
