WITH one year to go until the Commonwealth Games, and with Australian Diamonds Coach, Lisa Alexander, visiting Lightning HQ last week, it is a good time to think about who could be in contention for national duties.

Selection is based on a number of factors: previous performances, combinations on court, versatility in positions, attitude, work ethic and current form.

With Lightning in fantastic form and sitting second on the Suncorp Super Netball ladder, a potential call-up for some of our squad is a possibility.

Laura Scherian is a former AIS athlete who is surely on the radar following strong performances at both centre and wing attack.

"Shez" has experience at an international level and was my roommate when we won gold representing Australia at the 21 and Under World Youth Cup in the Cook Islands in 2009.

Kelsey Browne is another midcourter who has had an outstanding first half of the season. …
