ROCKHAMPTON Relay For Life organisers are calling on the community to make a New Year's resolution to bring hope to all Queenslanders affected by cancer.

By taking part in Relay For Life, you will not only improve your own health, but make a tangible difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families.

Cancer Council Queensland's 2017 Rockhampton Relay For Life is set for May 20 - 21 at Tom Nutley Oval.

"One Queenslander is diagnosed with cancer every 20 minutes - by pledging to take part and raise funds for the cause you can make a difference this year," the Cancer Council's Katie Clift said. "All funds raised are directed into lifesaving cancer research, prevention programs, and local support services for those affected.

"Relay For Life is also a great time to think about your own personal health - a reminder to get active, get to know your body and get checked if you notice any changes.

"So get your friends and family together, register a team, and make your New Year's resolution count. …
