Harry Influenced by Game's Great; Yeppoon Teen Trains with Storm Stars

RUGBY LEAGUE: After a week training alongside one of the greatest ball players of all time, Melbourne Storm under-20 rake Harry Grant is primed for the National Youth Championship.

The 18-year-old Yeppoon product was last week put through his paces with the Storm's NRL squad, which includes Australian captain and hooker Cameron Smith.

"It was really good just to pick up on a lot of the little things he does and what a lot of the other senior players do," Grant said adding that Smith's style influenced his own game.

"I really look up to the things he does," he said. "He's so composed on the field, in attack and defence, and I guess that's where he gets his championship stature from."

Grant is especially eager to play in 2017 after missing most of last season through a knee injury.

"It was pretty frustrating to see all the boys getting a game each week but (that) made me want it more and want to train harder. …
