Jason Busks in Glory; Gladstone Driver Feels like King of the Mountain at 12-Hour Bathurst

MOTORSPORT: Gladstone's Jason Busk has had the experience of a lifetime when he recently competed in the 12-Hour Bathurst event.

Busk, 47, was a part of a three-driver team made up of Geoff Taunton of the Gold Coast and exciting Darwin youngster Bryce Fullwood.

The trio were a part of the Invitational class where they took stints behind the wheel of a March Ford Focus V8 552 horsepower purpose-built endurance car.

"We finished 25th out of 52 drivers and fourth in our class," Busk said of his experience at the setting of Australia's number one race - Bathurst 500.

"To be on the track at the same time as Mark Winterbottom, Craig Lowndes, Glenn Seton and the whole shooting match was just amazing."

Busk, who owns the Gladrock Transport business, was star-struck and said there was a job to do and that's to concentrate for the whole 12 hours.

"There were such a variety of cars and you had to be on your game," Busk said. …
