Clinton Show Dashing Signs Ahead of Season; Football CQ Program Released for Season

SOCCER: Clinton has fine-tuned its attacking game in the best possible way ahead of their Central Queensland Premier League round one home match against Bluebirds United this Saturday from 4pm.

The 2016 runner-up lived up to the promise of more attacking soccer and dismantled Nerimbera Magpies 6-1 in round one of the Westfield FFA Cup match at the weekend.

Clinton assistant coach Brad O'Sullivan said all the boxes had been ticked during the pre-season.

"It was very pleasing and it was a good hit-out as opposed to just the pre-season and it was a good challenge," he said.

Clinton's next FFA Cup encounter will be against the winner of the Frenchville and Southside clash, which had to be postponed last weekend.

However, O'Sullivan said the focus had switched to United.

"They are a good and young team and play a good brand of football," O'Sullivan said.

"They play an attacking-based game and have a lot of quick and young players. …
