Who: Damien Fleming.

Born: April 24 1970, Bentley, WA.

Resume: The swing bowl expert made his debut for Victoria in 1989, then his international ODI debut for Australia against South Africa in 1994. The same year he made his Test debut against Pakistan, and is one of only three men to have taken a hat-trick on Test debut.

An important part the all-conquering Australian teams under Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting, he retired with Test career figures of 75 wickets at an average of 25.89 with a career best of 5/30. Represented his country 88 times at ODI level, including in two World Cup finals, taking 134 wickets at an average of 25.38.

We threw Flemo and Roy a few searching motoring questions to discover their car life past and present.

What was your first car ?

Damien Fleming: A broken down 1982 Datsun Bluebird. It had a good stereo to be fair though, cranking out some Def Leppard and Motley Crue.

Andrew Symonds: A Subaru Brumby 4WD.

What are you driving now ?

DF: A black BMW X3 in the "Corridor of Coolness".

AS: A Toyota LandCruiser ute.

What car did your family have growing up ?

DF: It was a big day for the Flemings when, I believe, we bought our only new car: a Honda Civic.

AS: A Holden Jackaroo.

What is your greatest frustration on the road ?

DF: People driving slow in the right hand lane. …
