BEAUDESERT jockey Corey Bayliss rode a winning double in consecutive races at the Ballina Jockey Club TAB meeting yesterday.

He rode seven-year-old gelding Sirocan ($15) to a win in the $20,000 Class 3 Hcp (1000m).

Beaudesert trainer Di Brown was full of praise for the jockey and for Sirocan.

"I've been really impressed with Corey and he is a nice young man to talk to as well," Brown said.

"I have a real opinon of him and he's done a great job here again today.

"He (Sirocan) can be a cheeky horse at times and we don't always know what we're going to get from him.

"But he always seems to switch on come race day and he knows what it's all about.

"He looked good early on but he had a nasty accident and lost a lot of his career.

"A few things haven't gone his way over the years but he can be so impressive on his day. …
