1. Bonnywood Rising: Part melodrama, part western, part historical epic and part complete fabrication, Bonnywood Rising is a celebration of the ingenuity, resilience, spirit and humour of the peoples west of the range. The show features live narration by Ewingar resident Alan Highfield and music by post-rock band Amphibian. The film stars locals Marion Conrow, Tabitha Galvin, Lawrence McCarthy, Vilya de Tozser, Darry Melling, Bill Mills and Donna van Leeuwen among others. Bonnywood Rising is produced by media artist Dr Grayson Cooke and Southern Cross University. Mr Grayson worked with the Bonalbo community to celebrate the true histories (and embellished ones) of the Bonalbo and District Memorial Hall. At Bonalbo Hall, 4 Koreelah St, Bonalbo, on Saturday, from 7pm. Free event.

2. Superheros vs Supervillains: Circus Arts Byron Bay will present a tale of good versus evil for their end of year show: Superheroes vs Supervillains. With a cast of more than 150 students, this show is shaping up to be one of their most ambitious yet. In a new format, audiences can choose to see one show or follow the story over two adventurous evenings as the circus Superheros struggle to overpower the Supervillains. At 17 Centennial Circuit, Byron Bay, tomorrow and Saturday, 6.30pm.

3. Carols in the Heart: Lismore City Council presents Shop Baby Carols in the Heart. Entertainment starts at 6pm with the Trinity Choir and Kadina Choir, Luke Vassella, Lismore Ministers' Fellowship Group, musicians from the Northern Rivers Conservatorium and RED Inc, as well as the headline act, X Factor stars Matt and Jess. Food and drink stalls and candlesticks will be available. Gates open from 4pm and it is a free event, but please give to the donation buckets. All monies raised go to Lismore Jodie's Inspiration. At Oakes Oval, Sunday from 6pm.

4. Carols and Bushdance at The Channon: Sing and dance in the festive season. This family event hosted by The Channon Butter factory Tavern, The Christmas Belles and The Ragged Blossoms is rich with singing, dancing, good food an great company. At 4:30pm, Christmas Carols with The Christmas Belles - Julie and Mish, 5:30pm - Dancing and Carols with The Ragged Blossoms, 6:30pm - Local kids sing Christmas Carols, 7pm - Santa arrives on the fire truck and at 7:30pm - More dancing and carols with The Ragged Blossoms. At The Channon Butterfactory Tavern, 51 Terania St, The Channon, this Saturday from 4.30pm. Free event.

5. An Evening of Fashion: An Evening of Fashion will be indeed an evening of fashion and music and a chance to dress up in your finest wears and strut your stuff. At La'Studio3/52, 3/52 Centennial Circuit, Byron Bay, this Saturday from 6pm.

6. Delicious Party: Delicious is back for their annual Christmas Soiree. DJs in the line up are local luminaries Elscorcho and Craig Wilson, aka DJ 1iSamurai. …
