Youthful Additions Give Ipswich City Welcome Boost for New Season

FOOTBALL: In his second season as head coach, Norbert Duga is feeling more relaxed about the new season.

The experienced Ipswich footballer is not expecting any miracles as the Ipswich City Bulls prepare for Saturday's FFA Cup match before the Capital League 2 season kicks off the following weekend.

However, he is excited about the new players who have joined the club to bolster City's hopes of progressing back into the top half of the competition.

"I'd love to push into the top four but if we can just build and improve on last year I'd be really happy in both grades,'' Duga said.

Another loyal Ipswich footballer Jamie Beahan is coaching the Bulls Reserve grade side.

"I'm really happy with my relationship with Jamie, how well we work together and stuff,'' Duga said.

The Bulls tackle AC Carina in Saturday's FFA Cup game at Brassall.

That follows a number of pre-season trial games where the Bulls had mixed results.

"In some of those, I've been pretty happy how we've been travelling,'' Duga said. …
