Brisbane Chase Second ABL Title as Ipswich Return Home to Rays

BASEBALL: With finals fast-approaching, the Ipswich Musketeers are treating each week as a must-win.

After two tough weeks against the Major A League competition leaders, Windsor and Redcliffe, the Musketeers return home tonight to take on the Redlands Rays.

Redlands have struggled so far this season, winning only six of their 30 games to sit in seventh place on the Brisbane competition ladder.

With both teams missing a few players to the Brisbane Bandits this weekend, Ipswich Musketeers president Jon Campbell said the Rays would be under-strength.

"I think we'd feel pretty confident going in and these are the teams we should be beating by two," Campbell said. "They are a young side and they have lost a couple of their senior players.

"Connor MacDonald and Aaron Whitefield have gone up to the Bandits and they probably need those guys more than we need Andrew (Campbell) and Wade (Dutton)."

The Ipswich duo were part of the Brisbane Bandits side that hosted the visiting Taiwanese national side on Tuesday night. …
