Trial by Entertainment as Jets Return to Field; Ipswich Jets 'Stats-Man' and Die- Hard Fan Michael Nunn Returns

Article excerpt

THE Ipswich Jets will be taking on Souths Logan Magpies this week in Greenbank.

It's the Jets' first hit out of the season.

Luke Capewell will be missing, resting for the game against the Broncos next week.

Ben Walker is looking to be entertained. "Trials are pretty boring really, so we are looking to be entertained."

Ben and Shane love players that take some risks and back their skills. A trial is the perfect place to show you've got skills and you're able to use them in the correct context.

TU'U Maori only got to play 15 games last year for the Jets' BRL side due to injury but he has thrown himself into pre-season training with such enthusiasm that he has now become known as "One and a half" Maori. Tu'u is shaping up for a big season.

Dean Arbuthnot

IPSWICH Jet's trainer Dean Arbuthnot has been re-appointed to the role as trainer for the Queensland Residents this year. Congratulations Dean.

Lynn and the Jets share a sponsor in Ross Llewellyn Motors. Lynn was resting his neck injury when I caught up with him for a chat about cricket, football and if his car coming from Ipswich now makes him a Jets' man.

Short answer from Lynn was no- he's a Norths Devils' man having spent plenty of time at Bishop Park, Toombul Cricket Club and Toombul Bowls for a quiet beer.

Lynn said he loves two things about the Jets; the style they play which he highlighted was similar to how he plays cricket- back your skills and take a risk. …
