NEWCASTLE United want to have an extra 800 home fans in the Leazes End for their final day of the season clash with Barnsley.

The club have handed the Tykes 1,706 tickets for the match - which is already a sell-out.

Yet Barnsley have released details of their own allocation - and confirmed United are hoping to have extra tickets available for what is shaping up to be a crunch clash.

A statement posted on Facebook confirmed: "We have received an allocation of 1,706 tickets for our game on Sunday, May 7 at Newcastle United.

"Depending on how quickly these sell there is a possibility we could be allocated a further block of tickets of around 800. However, Newcastle United wish to sell this extra block to their own fans if we cannot commit to selling them all.

"There is no guarantee at this stage we will be given the extra allocation if there is any doubt we will need them all."

United know it is only a slim possibility there will be more tickets for home fans. …
