Fighting Our Corner in War against Fake News

Article excerpt

THE term fake news has been thrust into the international spotlight over the past year.

The US Presidential election was infected by the suggestion that fabricated information designed to deceive had been circulated indiscriminately via social media.

We've moved with our audience We've moved with the times and as the habits of our audience have changed, we have adapted to meet their needs.

While less people nationally consume their news through newspapers we now reach a bigger audience than ever before. Our website Chronicle-Live is one of the fastest-growing news sites in the country.

The website and its responsive mobile version and app have an average monthly audience of over 3.5m unique browsers. We bring you news as it happens We've always been a trusted source of news and in an age where any member of the public can be a publisher we remain the 'go-to' place for breaking news.

Our live coverage of events is unparalleled in the region. From live blogging council meetings to murder trials at court we have it covered as it happens.

4. We stand up for you If we think an injustice has been done we'll highlight it. …
