TAFE Student Loves to Meet Different People

EVERY day is different for Rob Hunter who is studying at TAFE Queensland South West.

He is studying a diploma of hospitality management and a diploma of events management.

Mr Hunter has been studying for almost five months now and should complete his diplomas at the end of the year.

"Some days I might be working an event like an open day, others we might just be in the classroom working on theory and if it's a hospitality focused day, we'll probably work at a restaurant or cafe," he said.

"I like meeting the different people who come through every day and the range of opportunities it provides."

Mr Hunter said he decided to study hospitality and events after a break from school when he needed a change in his career. He previously worked in retail.

"I've always thought about working in event management and my dream job would be to one day organise music festivals."

Being a full-time student Mr Hunter said he did not have a set daily routine. …
