NEWCASTLE University wrapped up their season with an emphatic 11-2 demolition of lowly AFC Newbiggin to finish the season as Premier Division runners-up to Killingworth Town.

Leading 7-1 at the interval, the hosts saw the goals flow through four from Oliver Walker, three from Tom Espen, two from Tom Woodier and a goal apiece from Olly Walden and Zack Thomas, the visitors replying through Ryan Clark and Reece Farell.

The four from Walker slipped him in between Matty Haydon and Scott Jasper in the race for the division's top scorer award.

Walker Central meanwhile can confirm third place in the table with a home win against Wallington today, while fifth-placed North Shields Athletic also have a home game to close the season against third-bottom Ashington Colliers.

Seventh-top Shankhouse travel to Cumbria to face Northbank Carlisle while there is a mid-table clash between Birtley Town and Percy Main, hosts Birtley aiming to seal a top-10 finish following some good results on the road recently. …
