Beegees Shake Things Up on Region's Soccer Scene

FOOTBALL: Reinvigorated Beerwah Glasshouse sent shock waves through Sunshine Coast Football's premier men's competition on Saturday but their coach isn't getting carried away just yet.

The Green Machine -- a struggler in recent years -- belted defending premier Maroochydore 4-0 at Kuluin to shift the landscape on the local football scene.

The result essentially bumped the Swans from first to third on the nine-team standings after 15 of 27 rounds and allowed Beegees to consolidate fourth place, just three points adrift of new ladder leader Noosa.

In a sign of contrasting form, the Swans have lost three of their past four matches while Dan Carew's charges have won four of their past five.

But he's won't entertain thoughts of a regular season premiership yet.

"We're aiming to stay in the top four. That's the main goal to start with and then we'll assess when we get to the back-end of the season," Carew said. …
