Runners Rewarded in Joggin for Frogmen 5K

The Navy SEAL Foundation had its Joggin for Frogmen 5K fundraiser recently and has announced race winners.

Sarah McMullen, 15, from Ponte Vedra Beach, was the Women's Overall winner with a time of 22:45.1. John Sorensen, 16, from Fernandina Beach High School, earned the Men's Overall winner title with a time of 17:42.6.

Other award winners include Bella Kandel, who ran the Tadpole Trot for 5- and 6-year-olds. And Fran Quattrene, an 81-year old Air Force veteran and member of America Legion Post 54, won gold in her division and raised $105 for the foundation.

Lynnette McCallister was recognized as the top fundraiser. She traveled from California to participate and is a four-star Blue Star Mother. She raised $1,450.

The foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides immediate and sustained care and support for members of the Naval Special Warfare community. For more information, ameliaislandnavyseafoundation.org.

- Robert P. Moore V, 18, has achieved Scouting's highest honor, earning the rank of Eagle Scout on June 3. He is a member of Troop 482 at Grace Anglican Church in Fleming Island. For his Eagle project, he built a pedestrian bridge for Grace Anglican Church in Fleming Island. Moore, a graduate of Fleming Island High School, will attend the University of South Florida in the fall, majoring in statistics. He is the son of Robert and Rhonda Moore of Fleming Island.

- Longhorn Steakhouse on Argyle Forest Boulevard in Orange Park is celebrating 25 years in the community on June 7. In addition, Leigh Tebbe, born and raised in Jacksonville, is also celebrating 25 years with the restaurant. She started as a server in 1992 and was one of the first employees hired at that location. She has helped the company open restaurants nationwide. Last year she was voted Team Member of the Year. …
