THE greatest male sprinter of all time is bowing out of the sport at the end of this summer but his female counterpart plans to run on to Tokyo 2020.

Although Allyson Felix is nearly a year older than Bolt, the 31-yea-old has her sights set on even more medals on the global stage, both this summer and beyond.

She has nine Olympic medals -- six of them gold -- and boasts nine world titles and 13 World Championship medals in total.

Sunday marks a return to the venue of her career high, where she won triple gold at London 2012, and the Muller Anniversary Games will act as a springboard to potentially more gold at London 2017.

"I'm still in a heavy block of training now for the Anniversary Games," says the American, who lines up in the 400metres, her one individual event at the upcoming World Championships.

"I can't worry about my time in London this weekend. I've just got to run a solid race, prepare properly and perfectly execute my race."

Her tapering for London 2017 will follow the Diamond League event in the capital, where the ambition is the same as ever.

"I'm the current 400m world champion and I have that title to defend," she says. "I'd love, come next month, to successfully defend that title -- that's what I've been working hard all year for."

With an over--laden medal cabinet at home, Felix could be forgiven for toying with stepping away from the sport altogether.

Bolt has made no secret of his struggle for motivation at times, even when he was targeting triple sprint gold for the last time at the Rio Olympics, and London 2017 is almost certain to be the Jamaican's swansong. He will be hoping to come away with gold in the 100m and 4x100m relay but has opted to forego the 200m.

But Felix has no intention of following suit any time soon. …
