LIGHTS, camera, action in Middlesbrough!

Workers around Hudson Quay, near Middlesbrough FC's Riverside Stadium, were surprised to see a camera crew turn up to film a scene for an upcoming television series.

A shiny black production truck carrying a navy Mercedes estate car on a trailer at the back pulled up next to the car park on The Halyard yesterday.

The trailer had a full rig set up around the front of the Merc, holding cameras and TV equipment.

There was a man sitting in the driver's seat of the car, and a passenger in the back.

There was also a taxi sticker on the windscreen of the Merc.

Several members of the camera crew were also perched around the rigging, and in the back of the production truck.

A beige coloured van was also leading the small convoy.

The production is set to be called Taxi Tales, and is to be shown on BBC2 next year.

The show has been written by Middlesbrough's Ishy Din, a taxi driver turned playwright. …
