Sacriston Not Saved by Bell as Boldon Win; UNDER-18 CRICKET

SACRISTON entertained Boldon in Division One of the Durham Cricket Board Under-18 League.

They decided to bat first, scoring a healthy 145-6 thanks to a brilliant knock of 80 from Solomon Bell from 51 balls - including 11 fours and a six.

However, Boldon were not to be outdone and, courtesy of good innings from Oliver Sampson-Barnes (60no) and Nathan Hewitt (42), they romped home with 1.3 overs to spare on 149-4. South Shields played Boldon and opener Luke Elliott scored 34 in an innings of 106-6 from their 20 allocated overs.

In reply, Boldon knocked off the runs required with just two balls to spare, opener Frankie Kilner topscoring with 28 in their total of 107-4. South Shields could only manage 65 all out when they visited Chester-le-Street.

Adam May contributed 20 while James Hindmarsh took an impressive 5-6 from his four overs.

In reply, the home side knocked off the winning runs (66-1), Hindmarsh reaching 35 and Ollie Barrett 27 not out.

Hetton Lyons welcomed Washington and batted first, amassing scoring 133-5 thanks to 50 not out from Miles Birbeck and 34 from Tom Lawson - the pair putting on 93 runs together.

Josh Bell then claimed an excellent 4-6 from his four overs to reduce the visitors to 27 all out.

Easington conceded their home game with Whitburn. …
