Balloonatics The Stand Award-nominated Scottish comedian Chris Henry comes to town today with a family-friendly show that is all set to go with a bang.

From 12.30pm, he will be launching a nonsense-packed hour featuring balloons and plenty of laughter. This children's show - which proved a hit at Edinburgh Fringe last year and has also been to Australia and Asia - is pretty much guaranteed to appeal to all ages.

Henry stops off at the Newcastle comedy club on a world tour and he's keen to invite everyone to join his chaotic Balloonatics Army.

The Voluntears are set to inject a boost of to the celebrations, which will also see two bands take to the stage. The support will come courtesy of "pedal metal" rock 'n' rollers Catalyse and fellow indie rockers Feva.

It's free to drop in and visitors can expect of arts, crafts, performance and food, while Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band will be playing throughout the event. …
