RUGBY LEAGUE: The Rockhampton Leagues Club Capras have let another promising start slip away, going down by 18 points to the Sunshine Coast Falcons.

The Capras had the Browne Park faithful in a frenzy when they stormed to a 12-0 lead at the 11-minute mark courtesy of tries to co-captain Gavin Hiscox and centre Nathan Bassani.

But in an all-too-familiar scenario, they could not maintain the momentum and in the space of 10 minutes had surrendered the lead to the Falcons who scored four tries.

When centre Justin Olam crossed for his second for the visitors on the stroke of half-time to extend their lead to 26-12, many were expecting them to run away with it in the second half.

It looked that way when the Falcons ran in their sixth try just six minutes after the main break.

But the Capras rallied and tries to wingers Ken Tofilau and Junior Kirisome had them back in the hunt at 32-20 with 20 minutes to go.

But the second-placed Falcons responded with two more tries to put the result beyond doubt before the Capras went over for a consolation try right on full-time, the final scoreline 44-26. …
