How a Whim Helped Change Harry's Life; Student Took the Plunge to Take Part in a Musical Production of Fame

HAVE you ever tried something on a whim? Ipswich's Harry Harms did and it changed his life forever.

The USQ theatre student was in his final year at Ipswich Grammar School when he saw his school was looking for students to take part in a musical production of Fame.

"I didn't know what to expect, but my dad thought I should give it a go," Harry explained.

"I had never been on stage before and never performed in front of an audience, but there was something about it I enjoyed.

"I didn't think I would have that much fun."

Acting then became his passion and Harry moved to Toowoomba the following year to study a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Theatre) at USQ.

Now in the final year of his degree, the self-described late-bloomer is determined to make a name for himself as an actor.

"Acting has really transformed me in the best way possible," he said.

"I love to entertain people and make others happy.

"I get a real adrenaline rush whenever I am on stage and being able to look at the world differently through someone else's eyes. …
