Ormston Puts on a Late Show to Earn Draw; NON-LEAGUE

GARY Ormston's late goal gave North Shields a hard-earned 2-2 draw at Shildon in Division One of the Northern League last night, writes MARK CARRUTHERS.

The Railwaymen's goals came from Michael Rae and Adam Burnicle, James Luccock putting the Robins back on level terms after Rae had put the hosts ahead.

That result meant Morpeth Town took over at the top of the table.

The Highwaymen secured a 5-0 win against Whitley Bay, all the goals in the second half with Sean Taylor and Liam Henderson among the marksmen.

Ben Harmison's 88th-minute goal kept up Ashington's impressive start to the campaign.

They were 1-0 winners at managerless Bishop Auckland.

David Palmer's 69th-minute strike gave Jarrow Roofing their first win of the season - 2-1 at Penrith.

Consett were 2-0 victors at Guisborough Town thanks to a second-half brace from Michael Sweet (pictured left).

Team Northumbria won the battle of the newly-promoted sides with a 2-0 success against Billingham Synthonia. …
