DURABILITY and leadership qualities have helped make Marist Brothers hooker Paul O'Neill one of the best players in Novaskill Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League.

The 25-year-old has barely missed a game and has always been among the Rams' best since he started in 2011 after making his first-grade debut the previous season for Ballina.

He played in a grand final that year with the Seagulls and has been a big part of building Brothers into a premiership threat over the past few years.

The Rams finished the season in second and will host Cudgen in the qualifying semi-final at Crozier Field, Lismore, tomorrow.

"I try to to all the right things and look after myself off the field to stay as fit as I can," O'Neill said.

"We're pretty big on proper warm-ups and recovery here so that definitely helps. …
