NUNTHORPE Academy are once again celebrating successful A-level results with a 100% pass rate.

The A*-A pass rate was 40% with an A*-B pass rate of 71%. Key targets were exceeded and Nunthope has a progress measure of +0.41 - which is a record high.

Fantastic individual A-level subject results were also achieved with humanities, mathematics, the sciences and English performing particularly well. This tremendous record is further enhanced by the spectacular individual achievements of so many of the sixth form students.

Sansith Hewipatharana, 18, of Marton, achieved 4 A* grades in maths, chemistry, further maths, physics and an A in the extended project.

He is now off to Cambridge University to study natural sciences. Sansith said: "I was extremely happy with my results and relieved as the day before the results I was worried I had not done as well as I hoped. I am now so excited about my future".

Lauren McGravey, 18, of Nunthorpe, got three A* grades in biology, chemistry, maths and an A in German and is going to study veterinary medicine at Cambridge University. …
