Festival Fun Still to Be Had This Summer

AMID lingering post-Bank Holiday blues, it seems we're pitching head-first into autumn and those darker nights.

But the good news is there is still a touch of summer to look forward to in the shape of festivals that have yet to play out.

Head north to catch two events which will take place against the backdrop of some stunning scenery.

Lindisfarne Festival, showcasing The Fratellis, will take place up the Northumberland coast between August 31 and September 3. As soon as this independent music and creative arts festival made its debut a couple of years ago, it stood out; not least thanks to having Holy Island as its impressive backdrop.

Initially 2,000 people descended on Beal Farm to enjoy a lineup of top DJs and musicians, street food outlets and alternative therapists, and this time around it has grown to more than 100 acts performing across seven stages.

Born of a desire to create something special for the North East, it continues to please with a diverse line-up of 100-plus acts over seven stages, featuring the likes of Friday headliners The View, the Backyard Rhythm Orchestra and Fun Lovin' Criminals. …
