DON'T panic. Relax.

Now take a deep breath. Let it out slowly.

All right, now panic.

That was The Indee script at 3.18pm on Monday, August 21. Up 'til that moment, Indee life had been calm for many, many weeks.

The theatre was suffering only from Beach Boy-ish good vibrations.

Light entertainment was planned for the final day of Seniors' Week with rehearsed readings of three comedies about seniors.

The expectation? About 20 to 30 would be nice.

The reality? Only 104 booked, with a waiting list.

Life had been smooth, right up to that 3.18pm phone call.

On the other end, one of the mainstays of the final play was wondering whether or not it was a good time to have a gall bladder removed urgently, because both her gall bladder and her GP felt it could be.

The good vibrations suddenly ramped up to a 6.2 tremor, causing a sinkhole.

Last Sunday was also the final day of the Sunshine Coast Theatre Festival with virtually every actor on the Coast either appearing or helping. …
