SUNDERLAND winger Callum McManaman is aiming to help his side by chipping in with goals.

The deadline-day signing from West Brom has impressed at the Stadium of Light in his three appearances so far, despite the Black Cats' disappointing form.

Sunderland have struggled for goals this term so far, and that predicament has not been helped by an injury to striker Lewis Grabban.

McManaman helped stop the losing run on Saturday at Hull, providing the cross for James Vaughan's first goal for the club.

In another bright display, McManaman went close to sealing the three points after a mazy run towards goal - only for Tigers' goalkeeper Allan McGregor to deny him with a brilliant save.

The 26-year-old believes his fitness is starting to build and hopes once he finally gets one he can start to help Simon Grayson's side with more goals thereafter.

He said of his start at the Stadium of Light: "It has been decent but I want to score more goals. …
