FIVE Lamps has been given a PS1,000 cash boost. Our charity, based in Stockton, was chosen as the recipient of the donation from CF Fertilisers in Billingham.

The charity, which aims to transform lives by removing the barriers to social, economic and financial inclusion, was one of two not-for-profit organisations chosen by the US-owned company, who raise funds as part of their F L Clarke Trophy night.

The cash will be split across two areas of Five Lamps support.

The first is the charity's home care programme, where the money will be used to create food and warmth hampers.

The hampers will be available for elderly service users who are transitioning from hospital care back into their own homes, and will include essential items such as food, blankets and toiletries.
